Dr Athena Yiannakou is associate professor in the Department of Spatial Planning and Development (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a qualified planning consultant. She holds a Diploma in Architecture (AUTH), an M.Sc. degree in Regional and Urban Planning (London School of Economics), and a Ph.D. Degree (London School of Economics). She has been project leader or associate of spatial plans, development plans, urban planning and management projects, environmental planning, environmental impact assessment and spatial impact assessment projects and has been involved in various research projects concerning spatial analysis and planning. She has published books as co-writer and articles in scientific journals and edited books. Her research interests include spatial development and planning, land use planning policy and legislation, environmental planning and sustainable development, transport infrastructure and urban and regional development.
Evangelos Aggelis is a surveyor engineer and an urban planning consultant. He holds a Diploma in Surveying Engineering (AUTH). He has been project leader or associate of numerous surveying studies, cadastral projects and urban plans. He specializes in digital mapping, management of geo-spatial data and development of custom software regarding urban and regional plans and cadastral projects.
Dimosthenis Eppas is a spatial planning consultant. He holds a Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning and Development (University of Thessaly). He specialises in the fields of urban and regional planning, spatial analysis and Geographical Information Systems. He has participated as a project leader and associate in various spatial plans, land-use plans, regeneration plans and urban design projects.
Dimitra Zeka is a spatial planning consultant. She holds a Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning and Development (University of Thessaly, 2003). She specialises in the fields of urban and regional planning and development. She has participated as an associate in the preparation of various spatial plans, land-use plans, regeneration plans and urban design projects.
Athina Vitopoulou, Architect Eng. – Urban Planner. Architect Eng. (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), DEA Projet architectural et urbain : théories et dispositifs (Ecoles d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville, Paris-La Villette, Paris-Villemin, Versailles και Institut Français d’Urbanisme-Université Paris 8), Doctorat en Histoire et Civilisations (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris). Her PhD dissertation on the interactions between property changes and the construction of public space in the modern Greek city was awarded in France the “Grand Prix de Thèse sur la Ville 2011”. She is Assistant Professor of “Urban Design” in the School of Architecture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since graduation, she has been active in the fields of Urban Design and Planning and has participated as a team member in urban design and planning projects and architectural competitions. She has developed a reach research, teaching and writing activity on issues related to the theory and practice of urban design and planning, environmental planning, urban policies, land policies, mechanisms and processes of urban space production, urban history and town planning history, institutional framework of spatial planning, protection and enhancement of urban cultural heritage. She has participated in national and European research programs, she has presented her work in many national and international conferences and has published in scientific journals, conference proceedings and collective works.
